Welcome to the PSRC

Research is a core element of the work of the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Lincoln. It contributes to knowledge, responds to problems, and feeds into and enhances teaching.

The Policy Studies Research Centre (PSRC) acts as the research focus for the School, undertaking research at local, regional, national and international levels across a range of policy-relevant areas of social research. While the majority of members of the PSRC are from the School, others are drawn from cognate areas, such as the School of Health and Social Care.

There are five main research groups in the PSRC:

Strategy

The PSRC/School aims to: continuously improve the research environment; invest in the building of key research capabilities and resources; underpin the continued professional development of researchers; raise the impact of research outputs; and strengthen the postgraduate offering.

The PSRC’s strategy is to:

  • Develop its research themes/groups
  • Enhance research quality
  • Increase and strengthen internal and external collaboration
  • Deepen involvement with research users and enhance their impact on policy-making
  • Continue to expand its research base and increase the number of research-active staff, research student registrations and higher degree completions
  • Grow research income
